August 2006 - The
Second Echonews Secondary Schools Essay Competition billed to hold on October 27th, 2006 at the AIRPORT HOTEL, Ikeja. The topic for this year's competition is "HOW ICT UNITES THE WORLD".
The purpose of the contest is to involve secondary school students in the creative and analytic synthesis of knowledge about the ICT and stimulate young people into good utilization of modern information technology and communication skills.
The Competition is being organized by Echonews newspaper, the youth friendly community newspaper that currently circulates over 5,000 copies in more than 800 secondary schools in Lagos state. It is distributed FREE!
All the stakeholders in the School system-pupils, teachers, principals proprietors and school administrators-have embraced the newspaper as the most positive development in recent times in encouraging reading culture among pupils and providing a forum for the youths to exchange ideas and information.
